Wren

Wren is the narrator of this novel. Her real name is Suren, but she prefers Wren. Some of the other characters call her Suren. For the sake of clarity in this novel, she is referred to only as Wren except in direct quotes. Wren is a victim of her circumstances, and this has made her far less effective and capable than she might have been otherwise. She greatly desires to be loved, but she sees this desire as a weakness. She lives a homeless, feral life near the home of her adoptive parents and her adoptive sister Bex. Wren was taken from her adoptive family when she was nine, and she lived a brutal life in Elfhame until she escaped to pick up a feral life in the mortal world. She is strong, capable, and courageous, but she is also young without the experiences that will undoubtedly come...
