Chapters 13-15 Summary

Chapter 13 begins with Hannah helping her mother to bed, as her mother is still upset about the comment that Jackson made in his card about her late husband, Jose. After leaving her mother to rest, Hannah begins crying and spends time with his things - sweaters, photographs, etc. Hannah remembers the conversation she and Jose used to have about how Jose met her mother while she was stranded on the side of the road with a broken-down car. She also remembers how they decided to get married that same day, knowing they were meant for one another. Hannah shares that Jose became sick when she was 12.
