Summary

The novel opens with a dedication, and then a page with two quotes - one from Hillary Clinton’s book What Happened, and a quote from Hamilton the musical. The quote from What Happened is, “My marriage to Bill Clinton was the most consequential decision of my life. I said no the first two times he asked me. But the third time, I said yes. And I’d do it again,” after the dedication page but before the title page. The quote from Hamilton is, “The world has no right to my heart.” The next page is the title page with simply the word RODHAM in all capital letters. The prologue starts on page three, titled Prologue and “May 31, 1969” (3).


The novel then begins in the prologue from the first person point of view of Hillary Rodham before her speech at her Wellesley College...
