Summary
The ninth story is called “Mariposa de Barrio” and is told from the perspective of a teenager named Stefi. It begins with Stefi revealing that her boyfriend Yandel had recently broken up with her, despite Stefi giving birth to their child at the age of just 13. Stefi cried on the bus home from the shoe store where she worked. She heard a DJ on the radio say he was giving away tickets to a concert by a trans woman who performed Jenni Rivera covers to the first people who write in with their favorite song and why they deserve it. Stefi wrote in that she deserved a ticket because the father of her child had just left her and she won a ticket. She arrived home to see her mom and her son Iskender who her mom was raising...
