Summary

In Chapter 23, Lux stares at Robbie’s body while Jake opens the bag lying nearby. She is still confused by Robbie’s death, but Jake explains that he must have caught and eaten the poison fish that inhabit the waters around the island. Later, in Chapter 24, the entire group agrees to leave Robbie’s body where it is. That night, they build a bonfire on the beach and smoke weed. Lux is high when she lies down next to Brittany before realizing that the woman is Amma. She tells herself that she can forgive Amma and lies on the beach in her delirium.
