Chapter 21 Summary

Kate wakes up the next morning at 10. She doesn't think this is right because dad always wakes her and Todd up at 8 for work. When she goes to Todd's room, her grandmother isn't there or in the bathroom. Todd's blankets from the couch are folded. Todd sees her and asks her to please come into the dining room. Kate finds her mom in there crying that they have to sell the house so they can catch up on their bills. When Kate says she should ask Grandma for the money, Sharon says she gave them the money for Todd's college, but that they spent it when times got tough so that they can't ask her for money now. Kate refuses to help clean the house for the real estate agent that's coming, but Todd tells her to stop being selfish and to grow...
