Chapter 16 Summary

Kate and Will start to meet every night at some place in the mall to make out. The following day at school, it's as if nothing has happened. Every night when Kate and Steve, Kate's dad, get home from the mall, Grandma is arriving from her daily shopping routine at a mall an hour's drive away. tonight, she gives Todd a suit and Sharon a formal red gown—neither of which they will be able to use. When Steve mentions the ad for the vitamin booth, Grandma asks him about it, but Kate distracts Grandma by asking where her present is. That night, Kate overhears her father telling her mom that he placed the ad already and split the cost between the two credit cards because there wasn't enough room on one card.
