Summary

Page 116 opens in April. Jia-Xi gets a better idea of how to handle her responsibilities and her studies. The image shows her reading while she vacuums. Ke-Gang spends his afternoons at home or studying with Olivia. Feng-Li gets a perfect score on a spelling test, though she still struggles with the language overall. Some of the kids begin to greet her, but she cannot carry on a conversation. When all the kids have a new hand-held video game, Feng-Li believes they are saying “Intendo.” Feng-Li has her hair curled, but the negative reaction prompts her to straighten it.
