Summary

In Chapter 17, narrated by Liz, Liz is surprised when the chalet begins to shake. She looks out the window to see a mass of snow coming down the mountain. She throws her arms up, screams, and falls to the floor. After the shaking has stopped, she forces herself to get up and join the others. They are just as terrified. Danny calls for Erin, who had just left the chalet. He struggles with the front door, which has bowed and cracked under the weight of the snow. Topher yells at him not to open the door, but Danny replies angrily that his friend is out there.
