The Town

The novel’s primary setting is a small, unnamed town in the Scottish highlands. The town is located near a forest, here Inti and her team reintroduce wolves in order to reverse the negative ecological impacts of the previous elimination of wolves in the area. Most of the townspeople seem to oppose the project, as they believe the wolves to be dangerous. Throughout the novel, Inti interacts with various townspeople, attempting to convince them of the safety and necessity of the project. By the end of the novel, Inti is a more accepted and ingrained member of the community.

The Forest
