Summary

In Chapter 23, Colm pays a fine for killing the wolf, and Inti pays a fine for attacking Colm. Inti and her team members continue to monitor the wolf packs and are encouraged by their progress. However, it is still not clear whether the wolves will continue to survive and flourish. One night, Colm and some other townspeople arrive at Inti’s house and try to break in. Inti calls Duncan, who arrives quickly and drives the mob away. Inti then lets Duncan into the house. Duncan sees and speaks to Aggie. Inti feels comforted by this evidence that Aggie is not simply a figment of of Inti’s imagination. Chapter 24 flashes back to the Alaska storyline.
