Summary
Pages 25 – 57
Tara rushed to a nearby newsstand and ATM to check the dates on the papers and her receipt. Both confirmed it was once again the 18th of November. She returned to the hotel and called Thomas, revealing nothing of her fears. It became apparent that Thomas had no recollection of their conversation on the previous night. Tara realized that the books she had bought the day before were no longer in her room. She returned to the antique stores where she bought them and found them on sale once again. She bought them again. She returned to Philip’s store and saw Marie, who plainly did not know who Tara was. She bought an antique Roman coin called a sestertius. While Marie was distracted, Tara sneaked into the back of the shop and observed the gas heater she had burned her hand...
