Chapters 23 - 24 Summary

Chapter 23: Over the next several midnights, the five of them work on stealing all the supplies they will need for the trap. This includes clearing out dozens of firework stands of their goods. Jessica has a final sleepover with Constanza and begins to get sentimental over being human versus being a midnighter.

Chapter 24: While watching the Weather Channel with her father, Jessica sees that rain is predicted for that night, Samhain night. She tries to stay calm but knows this could be a serious issue. While sitting there asking her dad questions about the parts she may have missed, Beth comes in wearing her Halloween costume. She's dressed as a tarantula and says it was Cassie's idea and that Cassie is obsessed with tarantulas. Beth also announces she will be trick-or-treating in Jenks in Cassie's neighborhood. Jessica protests but cannot come...
