Chapters 7 - 8 Summary

Chapter 7: While waiting for the others to arrive, Rex begins to examine the railroad tracks in Jenks where Cassie disappeared. He notices that they are covered in focus, trails left by darklings and slithers. He thinks there is too much focus for having only been in the area for 21 minutes which was the time length of the eclipse. They had been there before.

Rex remembers what Melissa said about the darklings celebrating. He wonders if they knew about the ripples and tears in the blue time and if they knew the eclipse was going to happen. He worries that they are right about Cassie being trapped in the blue time. Rex finds sneaker treads amongst the railroad tracks. The treads appear to be those of someone walking, not being dragged. They do not seem to have a purpose though; they appear...
