Summary

Hal was fascinated by Mice’s appearance and asked her questions about how she coped living somewhere as sunny as Florida. Mice told Hal about her hobby building radios. Mice spoke about the pirate radio stations she listened to and they discussed the likely possibility of a revolt in Cuba. Eve arrived and asked Hal if Mice could be her companion. Hal agreed it was a good idea. Two of the teenagers who had tormented Mice earlier, Laurette and Solly, heard that Mice might be going to work for the Gruelins. They realized this might make Mice rich. Laurette said she thought if Mice changed her clothes she might look pretty and Solly said that she could be beautiful.
