Summary

This section starts with Doodle and Freddy in pink entering a store that is all black, white and gray. The bulletin says “Maybe there’s more than one way to be with someone” (131). At the top are two frames - one of Freddy alone, and one of Laura chatting with another girl. Freddy and Doodle wander around with a basket picking up used dollars and stuffed animals. The dolls and animals chat with each other in the basket at the bottom of page 132. Doodle says they should wash them first but Freddy is distracted with her phone so she has to repeat herself. While they shop, Doodle tells Freddy a story and Freddy is looking at her phone and Doodle tells her the punchline and Freddy has no reaction so Doodle has to repeat themselves.
