Summary

In Chapter 26, The Winged Seraphs of Heaven, everyone is outside the cave when it closes. Kieran says magic was holding it open. It was Malcolm's magic, and he is now dead. Tavvy is very sleepy but is unhurt. Diana knows the Clave will likely become involved now and offers to take the blame for the entire situation, but Julian refuses and tells Diana she should not be there at all. When they reach the Institute, Magnus Bane, Clary, and Jace are there. Magnus says they saw signs of black magic being used near the Institute. Robert Lightwood is also present. He is a man who investigates situations when Shadowhunters disobey the law.
