Summary

In Chapter 21, A Wind Blew, Diego reveals that he had visited the Institute, and that Arthur had basically told him to go away, which prompted Diego to go to the Shadowmarket in search of weapons where he met Johnny Rook, getting all the same information Johnny gave Emma. Diego says he questioned Ava before she died, getting the basic information, including that some of the markings were only meant to confuse the issue. Diego says he returned to her house later to find her murdered, with a hand missing. That was when he encountered Emma and Julian, and he apologizes for shooting Julian. They discuss the fact that the victims do not matter and have no connections, which seems out of place for sacrificial killings.
