Summary

In Chapter 31, narrated by Atlas, when Atlas and Josh reach Tim’s house, Josh asks if he can wait a little bit before he gets out. Atlas does not try to talk Josh out of meeting his father because he knows that Josh needs to confront what his father is really like.

Josh asks if he should just go and knock on the door. Atlas offers to go with Josh even though he has no desire to deal with Tim again. Josh touches a scar on Atlas’ arm and asks if Tim did that to him. Atlas acknowledges that he did. Josh asks why he should give his father another chance if Tim treated Atlas the same way.
