Carpet Factory

Fatima meets Iqbal at Hussein's carpet factory. She had been working there for a few years when Iqbal came. The children both live and work at the factory, and some of them are chained to their looms. Conditions are brutal.

The Tomb

The Tomb is an underground area inside Hussein’s compound where children are sent who misbehave. This is considered the worst fate that could befall a child. Iqbal is sent down there numerous times, and he returns back quite ill every time. There is little air and no water in the Tomb, and there are also spiders, snakes, and scorpions down there.

Lahore
