Crime

Crime is central to the novel Hot Six by Janet Evanovich; however, the novel is comedic in nature, and the criminals within the story are written as such. Stephanie Plum is a bond enforcement agent or bounty hunter, and the people that she comes in contact with for her job vary from petty criminals to murderers and drug dealers.

A main plot in the novel is murder of Homer Ramos. Ranger, a co-worker of Stephanie's, is wanted by the police as a person of interest for the murder. The Ramos family is well known in the area as gun dealers. Stephanie has several run-ins with Alexander Ramos the patriarch of the family, as well as with Hannibal, the oldest son.
