Chapters 5 & 6 Summary

Stephanie tells Ranger about her night watching Hannibal and asks if she should continue. Ranger tells her to do so, but only if she can do it without getting shot at. Ranger kisses her and leaves. The next morning over oatmeal with Grandma, Brian Simon turns up with his dog Bob for Stephanie to watch while he is out of town. The dog is large and appears to be part Golden Retriever. Though Stephanie is put off by his size, she had agreed to watch the dog in exchange for Simon not pressing charges against Carol Zabo. Grandma and Stephanie prepare to leave after finishing their breakfast and the dog eating the cake, but the dog howls, so Plum takes the dog to work with her.
