Summary

In Chapter 37, back in the dorm, Pete told the others he was going to study. Malenfant tried to lure Pete back into the game, but Pete said he was no longer interested in cards or in winning the games.

In Chapter 38, later that night, Dearie called a floor meeting.

In Chapter 39, the Dean of Men and the Disciplinary Officer attended the floor meeting, but it appeared the faculty intended Dearie to be in charge. Dearie first told the students that Stokely was missing. Pete enjoyed the surprise on Dearie’s face when he informed him that Stokely was in the infirmary. Skip described what had happened.
