Summary
Part III takes place seven years later. Jack, now 12 years old, suffers from brain tumors which cause seizures. He is on the waiting list for a risky surgery which could solve the problem for good but which could be fatal. Jordan receives a message from Sam telling her that Yash is dying. Silas insists she should go to visit him, despite the fact that news of Jack’s surgery could come any day. Jordan flies out to visit Yash in hospital. At the hospital, Yash is surrounded by extended family and friends. Jordan is surprised when they address her as Jordan because “I have not been called Jordan by anyone but Yash in twenty-eight years” (165).
