Chapter 12 Summary

Susannah's mom says that Red and Tad are there to take Susannah to dinner. She tries to get her bag with Spike in it up to her room. The family dog, Max, follows her to her room, but runs away shrieking because he knows that Jesse lives in the room sometimes. Jesse appears as Susannah is preparing the room with food and a litter box for Spike. She asks Jesse to call Father Dominic if she isn't back from dinner with Tad and Mr. Beaumont by midnight. Susannah's mom comes to the door and tells Susannah how proud she is of her writing for the paper and that Tad is such a nice and handsome boy.
