Summary

In Chapter 30, Tully asks Johnny whether he still might love her while they slow dance at the party. Kate sees them and leaves, crying. She apologizes to Johnny that night and they have sex. Tully decides she wants a live show where she solves people’s problems. Marah asks to go to a concert. Her parents say no. Marah runs away that night to Tully’s house. She tells Tully she wishes she was her mom.

Tully kidnaps Kate and takes her to a spa in Chapter 31. Kate is depressed because Marah hates her. Tully suggests the two of them come on her show and talk about it, since Marah really wants to be on TV. Kate likes the idea. When she gets home from the spa, she suggests to Johnny that take a vacation without the kids to Kauai.
