Summary

Michelle watched the news story about a missing sixteen-year-old named Amanda Berry. She was last seen near Castro’s neighborhood. Michelle recognized Amanda’s photo. She was a lot younger than Michelle but Michelle was so far behind that they wound up in the same art class. Michelle had a sick feeling that Castro may have abducted her. Three weeks or so after Amanda went missing, Michelle heard loud music blasting from the basement. One afternoon, Castro told her he wanted to introduce someone he had brought into the house. She surprised him by guessing that the new person was Amanda, the missing person. She heard about her on the news. He claimed that it wasn’t Amanda and left the room.
