Seattle is a city in Washington state. It is well known for being the home of many tech companies and their employees. The majority of the events in the novel which occur in the real world happen in Seattle. Seattle is the home of Dodge (before he passes), Zula, and Corvallis.

Ameristan

Ameristan is a fictional area which is said to have seceded from the rest of the U.S. at some point in history during the time gap in the novel. It is mainly home to the Leviticans, a far-right extremist Christian sect which seeks to live outside of modern society as much as possible, though its members often travel to the U.S.-proper for things like medical treatment or education.
