Summary

In Chapter 23, Colton takes Rylee to his luxurious beachfront home in Malibu, where she meets his dog Baxter and learns that she is the only woman he ever brought there. As they walk on the beach, she questions him about his past relationships and he says he is incapable of love. She tells him about the accident in which Max was killed and she was trapped in the car for a few days before being rescued, then they have sex.

In Chapter 24, Rylee questions Colton about a scar on his arm but he refuses to say how he got it. When she sings along to one of her favorite song, he accuses her of being a hopeless romantic and asks her to spend the night, then more sex ensues.

In the book’s concluding chapter, Rylee is happy to wake up in Colton...
