Summary

In Chapter 18, Rylee is having a bad week as she misses Colton. Eventually he calls her, but the purpose is to make arrangements to take the boys from The House to his test drive at the race track. Near the end of the call, he finally says that his early childhood was bad, causing him to feel the need to hurt other people just when things start to go well, including his parents as he was growing up.

In Chapter 19, Colton sends a bus to pick up the boys, plus Rylee and two other counselors. When they arrive at the track, he is gracious and welcoming to the group and when he greets Zander, the boy says “Hi,” his first word since arriving at The House.
