Summary

In Chapter 30, Min takes note of the environment. She sees tall tree, bird nests, and “shy” ferns. She notices that the harsh wind is less so when she admires the forest and assumes she is appealing to the ghosts' vanity by admiring their home. Min imagines that Jinju can someday look like this,but reminds herself she has to find the Dragon Pearl and Jun first. Min, Sujin, and Haneul decide to try to reach their destination before night but it soon begins to rain. Haneul is unable to use her power to shield them. Min hears voices that Sujin and Haneul say they cannot hear. Eventually, Haneul hears it as well and calls, “Show yourself” (256). Min immediately realizes it is a ghost she knows, but not Jang.
