Chapter 10: Foregathering Song Summary

After a fitful night, Nita sits on the beach gathering her thoughts. Nita goes to call Tom but there is no answer. She is surprised to see Carl walking towards her on the beach with a towel around his neck. He tells her that Tom is in a meeting with ABC and he is taking his calls. It takes Nita a while to fill him in, and the shocked expression on his face when she tells him about agreeing to be the Silent One doesn't bring her any comfort. His response is not what she expects at all. Instead of giving her a way out, he reminds her that she willingly agreed, and reminds her of the incident that caused this situation. By calling out for an open ended request in Manhattan when she and Kit got into trouble...
