18 Summary

The unidentified writer recalls that his obsession was out front of the school, looking for attention, like a slut. The writer does his best to keep calm, or that he would have to smack her in the face. He thinks that his obsession only wants to make him lose control.

18 Analysis

The writer displays erratic, violent tendencies, wanting to smack Camelia for looking like a slut. Here, an interesting divergence occurs: While it could be argued that Ben is indeed the writer/stalker, his dislike of touching Camelia seems to directly conflict with the stalker's desire to hit Camelia. However, such a dislike of intimate touch may be because the stalker prefers a violent, controlling touch.
