Summary

The other mother is waiting for her when Coraline carries the cat back into the flat. She heads for the drawing room. Her other mother, who Coraline realizes now looks nothing like her real mother, asks where the souls are. When Coraline shows them to her, the other mother reaches out as if she plans to take them but Coraline puts them back in her pocket first. The other mother tells Coraline she still has to find her parents. Coraline adjusts the cat as she tells the other mother she believes her parents are trapped in the passageway between the real world and the other world. As the other mother opens the door, Coraline throws the cat at her, distracting her while she grabs the snow globe. The cat claws and bites the other mother as Coraline runs for the door.
