Chapters 21-24 Summary

Chapter 21. The group goes to McAnally's. Molly hesitates outside because she senses a powerful presence inside, one they've encountered before. Dresden is pleased, because that means the man he's there to meet is present, Donar Vadderung. Donar asks Dresden about his supposed death, and Dresden brushes him off, ordering a beer. Dresden says he wants advice, for an appropriate price. Vadderung takes his offer. He tells Dresden he knows all about the island, and so does the Grey Council. He informs Dresden that the fire will kill everything there rather than let them go free, because otherwise it would be The End. He also tells Dresden that the attack is in the present, and a local threat. Vadderung tells Dresden it is his job because of his connection to the island. He leaves, assuring Dresden that he can do what must...
