Point of View

Casati employs the typical storytelling style of the first-person narrator throughout the majority of the novel. Clytemnestra is the protagonist and narrator who describes her thoughts and feelings with detail and clarity. Clytemnestra is a highly emotional individual who is guided by her desire for justice, which manifests in an obsession with revenge against those who have wronged her. Much of the narration is devoted to this preoccupation with revenge, and includes copious amounts of planning for revenge against the murderer of her children.
