Chapter Twenty-Six, Epilogue Summary

Chapter Twenty-Six: Derek realizes he isn't really a vampire, because he did not like the taste of Jared's blood. Wahoo and Tuna thank him for coming to their rescue. The helicopter hovers overhead, its spotlight trained on Jared. Jared is tied up with vines and rope, knotted securely by Wahoo and Link. He has painful bite marks on his neck, but they would have been worse if Derek had had fangs. Wahoo used all of his strength to pry Derek off. Wahoo sits next to his father, who is resting on the deck of the airboat. Mickey says he is proud of Wahoo, then asks him once again to tell his mother that Alice chomped his foot. Link is upright but breathing heavily. Derek asks what everyone plans to say to the police. They agree to tell the truth...
