Summary

It was the day of Mr. Drury's funeral, as Briony reminded herself that he was killed by the Horrors, not by nature itself. She walked Rose by their mother's grave, in disrepair. She remembered, too, that Stepmother was not buried there due to the manner of her death. Briony heard a child's voice telling her that the Boggy Mun had sent the swamp cough, and more ghost children join the first as they seemed to walk out of their graves.
