'Nobody is Rational' Summary

Miro, along with Young Val, visits the Hive Queen in order to seek more information about how to get Jane's aiua into Young Val. Val protests that doing so will cut her off from her deepest self and, in effect, be the end of her. Miro is indignant, assuring her that he has thought it through and reminding her that she is dying regardless of what they do and that without a body, Jane will die along with her capacity to help humans, pequeninos and buggers. She agrees to see the Hive Queen but warns that she will not permit him to end her life.

A worker meets them at the entrance to the Hive and leads them in through dark, twisting passages. Even before Miro and Val are in front of the Hive Queen, she warns him telepathically...
