'You Don't Believe in God' Summary

Back on Lusitania, Ender tries to reconcile with his wife, Novinha, who has entered the religious order Children of the Mind of Christ. At first, she refuses to see him on the pretense that she is busy weeding. Ender, not to be dissuaded, enters the garden and takes up a hoe, tilling the row next to where his wife is working. Stubbornly, she does not acknowledge his presence until he is able to goad her into speaking by pointing out to her that she can only fully join the Children with him by her side since it is a married order.
