Summary

Chapter 13: “Blue Ruin” opens with James sorrowfully sitting on a bridge when Matthew joins him. They speak of James’ recent heartbreak until James suddenly slips into unconsciousness and Matthew catches him before he falls. Waking up at the Institute, James finds Matthew beside him who announces that now all the Shadowhunters know about Grace and Charles. They go to a different room to eat, where they discuss the wounded who have been moved to the Silent City, where the Silent Brothers live. Then, a letter arrives for Cordelia. James runs up to the training room to deliver it to her, and she reads it sadly.
