Summary

In Chapter 3, Autumn knows this person probably heard her trying to get a door open moments earlier, but she tries to think of a way to hide. He puts the knife in his boot and asks to talk to her. Autumn runs and arms herself with a book, the only thing she can find that might serve as a weapon. She then recognizes Dax Miller, who attends her high school. Autumn is skeptical when Dax says he does not have a phone. She follows him and discovers he has a sleeping bag. He covers himself up and says he wants to sleep. She knows Dax is a loner, but she is not really afraid of him. She settles into a chair and pretends to sleep. She thinks about the plans she made with Jeff to stop at a local campground for a bonfire...
