Summary

In “Ruth, Issaquah, Winter 1974,” on their way home, Tina and Ruth discussed the women who had disappeared recently. Then Tina invited Ruth to stay with her whenever she wanted. Ruth declined, but changed her mind after an interaction with her mother. Her mother wanted her institutionalized again, convinced that her relationship with Tina was unhealthy. Ruth realized she did not want to return to Eastern State and biked to Tina’s. She explained her mother’s concerns and the upcoming garden memorial for her late father to Tina. Tina let Ruth stay, and the women agreed they wanted to be together.
