Chapter 13 Summary

Mark tells Slick the bad news that Agent Dean was found dead in the FBI office in Fort Myers. A cleaning crew found his body. What is frightening is that whoever the killers were had access to the FBI office. Mark tells Slick that every agent in Florida is on their way to find Jenna and Yoshiko. Mark assures Slick that the federal government had nothing to do with these murderers. Dr. Pilcher walks out of his office toward his car. He is carrying a small box with him. It contains the strange tumor he found in Dr. Mellace's chest. The box is addressed to Jenna Blake in care of the Somerset Medical Center. He winces when he starts his car, fearing it might explode.
