Summary
Chapter 4 is told from the perspective of Lucky. Lucky arrived at Avery and Chiti’s house in London. She was disappointed that Avery was not there to greet her. Chiti had cooked a meal. When Avery failed to arrive, they ate it without her. There was no alcohol in the house and Lucky became increasingly desperate for a drink. Lucky told Chiti she was going out to meet some friends. On the way out of the door, she met Avery on her way in. Avery was disappointed that Lucky was going out but Lucky pointed out she had already been waiting for Avery for more than an hour. Avery had been at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Lucky wished that Avery would notice that it was her addiction to alcohol that was motivating her to leave and stop her, but she didn...
