Chapter 15 Summary

The summer turns into fall. The great weather is promising better yields in the field. Victoria isn't dreading returning to school for a new year as much as she thought she would. She feels a lot older because she's in love with Jerome. Victoria still feels guilty about Skye, who must have gotten out during the commotion of the garden party and was hit by a car. After the garden party, Jerome tells Victoria about his girlfriend who was killed in the bus accident. For a time after Skye's death, Julia doesn't even speak to Peter.

A rumor spreads around the village that Claudia has money from her husband's criminal activity stashed away. It starts when Claudia is spotted at a salon in London getting her hair done. Claudia isn't aware of the rumors because she is so busy working. What Claudia does...
