Chapter 12 Summary

The man on the ground gets up, shakes Finn off his pant leg and runs away. Victoria is screaming about how she hit the man. Peter Durnford says the man is a prowler whom Victoria spotted and that Victoria hit him with her stick. As they all start to dissipate, Peter assures Claudia that he is only next store if she needs him. When they arrive home, Peter suggests they not tell Julia what happened. Claudia admits to Jerome that the man's name is Freddy and that he's a freelance photojournalist. This is when Jerome realizes what his mother has had to deal with during the time his father has been in trouble.

Jena, Victoria, Jerome and the dogs all meet up to ride together. Claudia leaves a message for Anthony to let him know that she's not going to report the prowler...
