Fortitude “Fort” Jones

Fortitude (who goes by the name Fort) is the main character of “The Griot of Grover Street.” After leaving the funeral of his beloved Aunt Netta, Fort finds himself going to the Between with the mysterious Mr. G to collect joy from other worlds. Over time, Fort learns that joy is often accompanied by sorrow and that it is is important for people like him to collect and share joy with others who may not be able to find it themselves. By the end, Fort decides to become the new Griot of Grover Street and take his first collection of joy to his newborn sibling.
