Summary

The next story, "Epic Venture" by Jay Coles opens with Wes at his grandparents' large home. He listens to Grandpa Charlie's stories because Wes sees his grandpa as a superhero with crazy experiences to share. As Grandma Betty makes Wes's favorite tea, Grandpa Charlie tells a story from Berlin and Wes sketches the details. Grandpa says that he and his friends did not always beat the bad guys, but then protected who they could. He recalls his best friend, George who was shot down during combat. Then, Grandpa invites Wes on a flight in his plane before he sells it. Wes thinks about this as he goes to sleep, as their house is quieter than Wes's apartment.

After breakfast, Wes meets Grandpa in his garage filled with military memorabilia. They get into the plane and Grandpa takes off. Wes is fascinated...
