Summary

“Old Boys, Old Girls” tells the story of Caesar Matthews, a man who goes to prison after murdering two people when he is very young. Caesar spends several years in prison, where he initially enjoys a relatively protected existence thanks to his relationships with Multrey Wilson and Tony Cathedral, who are both well-respected, and begins to navigate the difficulties of life in prison. As time moves forward, however, Multrey is murdered, and Cathedral begins to lose his mind, leaving Caesar without allies and rapidly growing older. Eventually, when he comes close to turning 40, Caesar is released, and finds himself living in a halfway home down the hall from his old girlfriend, Yvonne Miller, who no longer recognizes him and has begun using drugs.
